The Ga(a)ps in Financial Regulation

Dr. Philip Dybvig, Nobel Laureate in Economics in 2022, will discuss the potential holes in financial reporting and some possible solutions. Finally, Dr. Dybvig will share some other gems from his life and career in the Q&A with USF’s Professor Ludwig Chincarini.

MORE ON SPEAKER:

Dr. Philip Dybvig, Boatmen’s Bancshares Professor of Banking and Finance at Washington University in St. Louis, was awarded the 2022 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on banks and financial crises. Prof. Dybvig shared the prize with Dr. Douglas Diamond with whom he developed the Diamond-Dybvig model, a model that shows how banks serve the economy by creating liquidity and how this liquidity creation subjects the banks to runs without any deposit insurance or other protections, and Dr. Ben Bernanke.
